Frank Joseph Alvarado, 78 of Waco, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016.

Visitation: 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Funeral Service: 10:00AM Friday, October 28, 2016 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow with full military honors at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Frank Joseph Alvarado was born August 16, 1938 in Fresno, California to the late Frank S. and Carmen Casares Alvarado. After graduating from Don Palos High School in California, Frank joined the United States Army. He served his country honorably for over 21 years, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam and ten years in Germany and Lebanon. After retiring from the Army Frank attended and graduated from TSTI and then worked as a parts clerk for Richards Industrial Supply for over 25 years. He loved his dogs and spent many hours walking them.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Carmen Alvarado; wife of over 25 years, Malinda Alvardo; daughter, Vicki Lynn Alvarado Nickolson; sisters, Josie Monreal and Lydia Ramirez; and brother, Rudy John Alvarado.

Frank will be remembered with love by his daughters, Julie Vasquez and husband Jose Cruz of Waco, Penny Romero of Waco, Conne Martinez and husband David of Waco, and Valerie Thurston of Seaside, CA; son, Joe Alvarado of Jamestown, ND; brother, David Alvarado of Firebaugh, CA; stepsons, David Simmons and Joe Simmons, both of Waco; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; along with numerous cousins, aunts and loving friends.
