Eddie Wayne Dorris, 53, of Gholson, passed away at his home, Saturday, December 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Eddie’s family is very thankful for the care he received from his nurse, Valley Baugh with Kindred Hospice.

 

Visitation: Thursday, January 4, 2018 6:00PM – 7:00 PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Celebration of Life Service: Thursday, January 4, 2018, 7:00 PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

 

Eddie, a native of Waco, was born October 6, 1964 to the late Wilson Gene, Sr and Margaret Anne Baird Dorris. Eddie was a loving soul and would help anyone in need. Eddie married the love of his world, Renee Rash, December 31, 1994. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to dirt track racing, and riding his Harley motorcycle. Eddie had a passion for being a part of any benefits that would help others, riding in the “Project Angel Tree Run” every year. He also enjoyed spending many hours hanging out at the “Gtown Mafia Race Shop”, with his friend Wade. Eddie worked for for many years in public utilities, water line construction, and warehouse management. Eddie worked for Lochridge Priest, Staas Plumbing, Morrison Supply, and Kilgo Construction. Eddie’s last wish in life was to spend some time with his grandchildren and family, the “Dream Foundation” granted him that wish just a few days ago, they spent fours days in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, his family will cherish their time given to them in his last days. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Margaret Dorris; his brother, Wilson Gene Dorris, Jr. and his sister, Beverly Weinkauf.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 23 years, Renee Dorris; his children, Mistie Woodlock and husband, Terry (whom Eddie loving called “Lurch”), and Billy Gene Buckius; sister, Jennifer Herbeck; seven grandchildren, Victoria Woodlock, Terry Woodlock, Dylan Woodlock, Emmary Woodlock, Kaleigh Woodlock, Wendal Woodlock and Nicholas Yoder; his best friend, Wade White; and his furry companion, “Buzzy”, his Blue Healer Boston Terrier.

Family would like to thank the “Dream Foundation” and Kindred Hospice for all they did for the Dorris family.

    I met Eddie on Aquilla when He was 15 yrs old. He was fun , witty, and always fun to be around. Our girls spent many many days together growing up & we all had lots of fun memories.   18. Eddie Wayne was always fun loving and witty. We have so many good memories from motorcycles rallies and all the way back to our childhood. The memories are what we have to hang on to and no one can take that away from us. Renee you have been right there by his side and we admire your strength and faith. May God bless you.
