Earlene Huse, 85, of Malone, passed away Friday, March 31st in Hillsboro, with her daughter at her side.

She was born July 30, 1931 in Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Orban and Della Davis Ward.

For many years, she worked for Kreditors Sewing Factory in Hubbard. After its closing, she found herself as a waitress in restaurants in Malone until retirement. She enjoyed being with her family and she loved to sew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; four brothers; and her husband, Leonard Huse.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Boortz and husband Lee of Malone; son, Bobby Huse and wife Dinah of Leroy; three grandchildren, Dustin Boortz and wife Macy of Lewisville, Lexi Huse of Leroy, and Amber Versch and husband Mark of Malone; two brothers, Lloyd Ward of Jacksboro, and O.B. Ward and wife Flo of Alvarado; two sisters, Clemmie Sykes of Red Oak, and Edna McGee of Elko, NV; great grandchildren, Austin Boortz, Grayson Boortz, Madison McCawley, Kylie Vesch, Nevaeh Versch, Grace Versch, and Korbyn Versch; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
