David Earl Smith, 44, of Waco, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the chapel of Lake Shore Funeral Home with Brother, Jeff Stinson officiating.

Burial: Immediately following the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

David Earl Smith was born March 14, 1973 in Fort Worth to James Smith Sr. and Glenda Gilbert Smith. He was employed as a groundskeeper at LaVega Mobile Home Estates. He was a member of Church of the Redeemed.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Daniel Smith, Skyler Smith, Jerry Smith, J.T. Smith and Kyle Rydell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Smith; paternal grandfather, Elbert Smith; paternal grandmother, Mary C. Smith; maternal grandfather, William Gilbert; and his maternal grandmother, Ruby Gilbert.

David Earl is survived by his wife, Misty, of Waco; his father, James Smith Sr., of Bellmead; brother, James Smith, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Azle; and brother, Wayne Smith and wife, Brenda of Waco.

David is very missed, his time came to soon .. every time I seen Misty and David he always had a smile on his face and in such a good mood .. any time Misty told a story david looked at her w such love .. David stood tall but he stood even taller next to her .. I couldn’t start to imagine what Misty is going thro .. I know she is one strong woman but even strong people need some one .. I’m so very sorry I can’t make it .. I’m sending prays and tones of hugs .. God be w Misty at this time of need!!!
