Clifford Walton Cook, 81, of Axtell, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral Service: 2PM Friday, February 16th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will follow at Axtell Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Thursday, February 15th, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Clifford was born August 25, 1936 in Gholson to Alton and Ruby Lee (Headen) Cook. He served in the U.S. Army honorably for more than two years. He served as patrol officer for City of Hurst Police Department for 10 years. He then worked 25 years for Texas Highway Department, retiring in May 1994. After retirement, he and Dianne delivered Tymco product for 10 years throughout the U.S. while enjoying many sites. He was a member of American Legion Post 121. He and Dianne were co-superintendents of McLennan County Junior Livestock Show- Rabbit Division for 34 years up until the time of his passing.

Clifford was preceded in death by daughter, Beverly Cook; grandson, Corey Cook; brother, Jerry Cook; and his parents.

Survivors include wife, Dianne Cook of Axtell; son, Jay Cook and wife Valerie of FL; grandchildren, Randall, Jason, James, Raymond, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Logan, and Quin; and brothers, Kenneth Cook and wife Anna of Crawford, Mickey Cook and wife Loretta of Waco, Leslie Cook and wife Kay of Axtell, and Paul Cook and wife Jimmie of Axtell.
