Catherine Maddox Taggert, 73, of Waco, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her residence. Honoring Cathy’s wishes she will be cremated.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28th at First United Methodist Church in Waco

Cathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born July 16, 1944 to Varge and Olive (Speith) Buck in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Pacific Palisades High School in California, and continued her education studying Business at McLennan Community College. She was a booking supervisor for McLennan County, a retail clerk at Joann’s Fabric and Craft store, and receptionist for the Central Texas AA Intergroup. She was also member of the First United Methodist Church in Waco, where she took great pleasure in serving the Lord.

Cathy was united in Marriage to George Taggert on August 15, 2015. Although their time together was short they spent their time traveling together and enjoying life. Cathy was an avid crafter and collector of all things Marilyn Monroe. She also enjoyed music, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Don and Roger Buck; and sister Sandra Buck.

She is survived by husband, George Taggert; sons, Roger Maddox and wife, Trisha; Kevin Maddox and wife, Stacy; and David Maddox; stepchildren, Ron Taggert and wife, Analisa; and Teresa Klanika and husband, Gary; grandsons, Nic, Zac, Tyler, and Carter Maddox, Jeremy Root, Dillon Bryant, and Blake Taggert.

In her memory you may consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Bluebonnet Home Care and Hospice of Waco.
