Beverly Joan Haigood, 72 of Gholson, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Visitation: Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Celebration of Life & Faith Service: Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor Robby Kirby officiating.

Burial: Gholson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Malar, Justin Curtis, James White, Hubert Murphy, Shawn Eastwood and Dustin Holecek.

Beverly was a native of Waco, born September 26, 1944 to the late Leonard McDonald and Ruth Copaus Buckner. She attended local area schools, more specifically South Junior High where she met the love of her life, Charlie Haigood. She was married at the young of 14 years old on November 8, 1958. Beverly had a passion for her family and spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She was an excellent cook, her homemade biscuits and sugar syrup will be deeply missed. Beverly also enjoyed playing BINGO and playing on her tablet. Beverly was a strong woman of faith and deeply loved being at her home church, New Hope Baptist Church in Riesel. She made the heartfelt decision to be rebaptized in 2014; it was a special time for her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ruth Buckner; her older sister, Judy Kinder; her infant daughter in March of 1959 and her husband of over 46 years, Charlie Haigood in 2004.

Beverly will be remembered with love and cherished forever by her loving daughters, Charlotte McDaniel and husband Mark and Kim Holecek and husband Eddy; brother, Richard Buckner and wife Patsy; eight grandchildren, Gary Malar and wife Christy, Tracey White and husband James, Heather Curtis and husband Justin, Rachael Holecek and companion Hubert Murphy, Jenni Eastwood and husband Shawn, Dustin Holecek and wife LeAnn, Heath McDaniel, and Cameron McDaniel; 16 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family request memorial donations in Beverly’s name to be sent to New Hope Baptist Church in Riesel.
