Anna Ross McLennan, 100, of Waco, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Viewing Mrs. McLennan will be available for viewing Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from noon to 5 PM, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:00AM, at Willow Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenneth McNeil officiating.

Burial: Willow Grove Cemetery following her funeral service.

Anna was born May 19, 1917, in McLennan County to Samuel David and Viola Hamilton Ross. She graduated from A.J. Moore High School in 1938 and then attended 4-C Business College. Later she became a licensed cosmetologist. In August 1939, she married Henderson L. McLennan in Willow Grove.

Anna was a longtime, active member of Willow Grove Baptist and served there as an usher, choir member and children’s Sunday School teacher. She was also a past president of the Women’s Missions group at the church. Over the years Anna was involved in many social organizations, including Caritas, Meals-on-Wheels; HOT Fair and the McLennan County Extension Service. She loved to travel, sew, cook, garden and exercise. Anna was a loving caregiver to many of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henderson L. McLennan; sons, Roy D. McLennan and Richard M. Thomas; five sisters and one brother.

Survivors include daughters, Marjorie McLennan of Houston and Claudette McLennan of Waco; grandson, Jarrod G. McLennan of Waco; granddaughter, Sharla McLennan of Waco, 2 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Crestview Healthcare Residence and Providence Hospice Place for their care for Anna.
