Alvin L. “Skinny” Steinke, 86, of Marlin, passed away Monday, July 6th.

Funeral services: 10AM Friday, July 10th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Thursday, July 9th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Alvin was born July 2, 1929 in Otto to Albert and Lena (Sager) Steinke. He married Carmen Spiares on January 6, 1959. He farmed all of his working life. He loved fishing, family get-togethers and bar b-ques and camping. Later in life, he enjoyed trips to Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carmen Steinke; son, Ronnie Key; sisters, Alvina Littrell, Emma Steinke, Alma Schreiber, and Martha Hefelfinger; brothers, Otto Steinke, Ernest Steinke, Paul Steinke, Herman Steinke, Albert Steinke, and Henry Steinke.

Survivors include brother, Felix “Flop” Steinke of Marlin, twin brother, Edwin “Fats” Steinke of Marlin; daughters, Janie Taylor and husband John of Lacy Lakeview, Helen Black of Elm Mott, and Nancy Montgomery and husband Bill of Waco; eight grandchildren, George, Anna, Rhonda, Scott, Jimmy, Kelli, Sam and Pete; 15 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Corbin Taylor, Pete Taylor, Alvin Scott Taylor, Sam Key, George Key, Jesse Hackett, Clifford Hackett and Jimmy Black.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to nephew, Randy Steinke for all of your care and assistance through the years.
